ROXE Exhibition Sat 7th May

May 5th, 2011 by Bryce

The Boiler House is proud to present a new graffiti exhibition opening on the Saturday 7th May… the ROXE EX-BO!

The ROXE foundation are best known for their yearly event… the ROXE Jam held in Sevenoaks park each year… a HUGE Graffiti Jam with writers from all over the UK. They put in a lot of work for the Cardiff Graffiti scene, so we’re very happy to host a rare exhibition where the organisers step out of the shadows and …into the spotlight!

This event will also be a fundraiser for this years event… there will be a (very) affordable art auction with pieces donated from the some of the best artists in south wales. Artists will also be painting canvas’s live for the auction, so you can even come some ideas of your own.

SATURDAY – Exhibition opens at 4pm, the art auction will start around 5.30ish… followed by Live music and DJ’s until 12pm… some great names in the line-up… (hush hush for now) plus Breakdancers from Cardiff City Kings and a few more treats lined up… :)

SUNDAY – Graffiti Jam all day from 11pm.

As usual we’ll have a fully licensed bar with the finest in Artisan Beers, a BBQ.. See you there!

Kem and Mef Aftermath.

February 25th, 2011 by Bryce

What a crazy weekend! Great turnout to the opening night despite terrible weather… LOTS of sore heads the following day after having a bit too much fun. The Saturday featured a mish mash Graff jam in honour of Kem and Mef. Good turn out again including a car load or two from Birmingham, plus Zare from the midlands and Shimz from Bristol. Also a very healthy overspill jam in Hailey park with a lot of the walls getting a make-over.

Tons of great pics from the Exhibition, but for now feast your eyes on the Saturday walls… click here

KEM and MEF Graffiti Exhibition

January 20th, 2011 by Bryce

The Boiler House is proud to present an exhibition featuring perhaps one of the best partnerships
ever formed in the UK graffiti scene… the mighty KEMEF inc.

Mef and Kem were established in Birmingham in 1984 at the start of the UK Hip Hop / Graffiti scene. During the 80’s Mef and Kem also went under the names Ndeva and Asasyn (ADZ cru). ADZ had birmingham on lock down during these years and were high on the most wanted list, …with a dedicated unit of the vandal squad following them. Mef was caught in the raids of 1987.
Mef & Kem went back to their original names and have continued from strength to strength producing some of the finest UK Graffiti productions being painted today.

The opening night starts on Friday 18th Feb at 7pm, until 12am. We’ve plenty of music, beer, graff and good vibes!

We are also open on Saturday all day from 11am – 10pm, with a live Graffiti Jam happening all day in the yard. Over 180ft of wall space!

For the big man himself… one of the pioneers of Graffiti writing, in particular painting whole cars with precision and style. One of the true masters!
